I was born and raised in the Philippines, immigrated to Canada in 1997, and settled in Wasaga Beach in 2006.

I first took up painting during the winter months in California. I was starting to feel bored and in need of challenge. When I returned home, I realized that Georgian Bay provided a wonderful setting for a landscape artist.Although I am largely a self taught artist, I have benefited from classes from some very accomplished artist. I am playful with colours and love to recreate the many colours I see in the nature.

Most of my paintings are based on photos I take. I deliberately choose complicated scene so that I am challenged to turn the setting into a piece of art. I discovered that there is complexity in the nature that is not visible to the human eye, but can be seen in a telephoto lens. The photos I have taken revealed an intricate and complex pattern in nature.

I spend a lot of time outdoors. So, I thought why not create artwork with rich colours that can withstand the stress of weather so that I can enjoy my outdoor time even more and hopefully provide a source of enjoyment for others. I thoroughly researched what materials to use and the processes to have my painting withstand the outside elements to the maximum extent.
